Steven Zweig, MD

Steven Zweig, MD, joined the MU Family and Community Medicine faculty in 1984 after graduating from medical school, completing residency and academic fellowship training, and earning his Masters of Science in Public Health (MSPH) degree at the University of Missouri. Early in his career, Dr. Zweig directed the Family Medicine Residency and later co-directed the Academic Primary Care Fellowship. He served as chairman of the Department of Family and Community Medicine from 2008 until 2019, when he was named interim dean of the MU School of Medicine. His appointment as dean was made permanent effective April 1, 2020. Dr. Zweig maintains an outpatient practice and cares for patients as a member of MU’s Supportive and Palliative Care team.
